ABOUT US
Alaska Dog & Puppy Rescue was originally formed as a Rescue organization to help meet the needs of the Mat-Su Valley and its pet over population problems. The dogs and puppies taken in were literally saved from certain death. As an all-volunteer organization it hasn’t been easy but thanks to hundreds of dedicated and compassionate volunteers ADPR has continued to grow and succeed.
We continue to rescue from numerous shelters around the state, as well as from villages spread all over Alaska! We also take in unexpected litters from the public. Since our beginning in 2003, ADPR has rescued and placed an average of over 500 dogs and puppies a year. All of our animals are spayed and neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped, and are kept in foster care until the right forever home is found for them.
WHAT WE DO!
Alaska Dog and Puppy Rescue is a rescue organization that rescues dogs from the community, Animal Control/Shelters and many bush communities throughout Alaska. We also take in unexpected/unplanned litters from the public and spay the mom so that no more “accidents” happen. All of the dogs and puppies rescued are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and evaluated before being placed up for adoption. All of our animals are cared for in foster care until they are ready for adoptionur organization is supported by volunteers! We need volunteers to with adoption clinics, transporting, answer phones, we also need volunteers to run errands during the week.
Foster!
ADPR provides food, vet care and supplies and you provide the loving and safe environment for a dog or puppy until adopted. Every foster home we have is another life saved.
Donate!
ADPR is a 501c3 organization and all donations are tax deductible. In addition to money we also need: Blankets, towels, dog food & toys, dog kennels, puppy pens, bleach, collars & leashes and paper towels. Every little bit goes a long way!
